Warwick - Regal Homes & Properties, Inc. began its Habitat For Humanity Fundraising Campaign to help rebuild homes for Katrina victims during Warwick’s celebration of Applefest 2005. “On that day,” said Kim Corkum, a principal broker with the firm, “we handed out free balloons and souvenir photos to everyone that made a donation.” Regal raised more than $400 at Applefest and subsequently held a yard sale and another fundraiser outside ShopRite, collecting more than $900 with those two events. On Dec. 1, Regal agents Marty and Teresa Vela-Hayes raised more than $260 at the Warwick Fire Department Goodwill Hook & Ladder Ladies Auxillary Shopping Spree by selling raffle tickets for two holiday baskets. The baskets were filled with items donated by Regal Agents and their friends. In addition to these monthly fundraisers, Regal agents also have been donating a portion of their commissions to the Habitat for Humanity fundraising campaign. “We hope to continue our fundraising through the Spring,” said Corkum. “At that time some of our agents will visit the Gulf region to work on building a Habitat home. We are proud to say that Regal Homes has so far raised a total of $2,167.72 for Habitat for Humanity.”
