Adopt or sponsor a pet at Pet Adoptathon 2006
Warwick Pet Adoptathon 2006 will be celebrated by the Warwick Valley Humane Society on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7, at their animal shelter at 48 Public Works Drive in Warwick. The Pet Adoptathon weekend will take place worldwide, to help bring attention to homeless animals in an effort to find them wonderful, permanent homes. The weekend also kicks off “Be Kind to Animals Week.” Sponsor names will be displayed on the pet’s cage for the entire week. “Sponsor donations enable us to reduce the adoption fees for each sponsored pet, by helping towards the neutering, inoculating, testing and advertising costs for our dogs, cats and rabbits available for adoption,” said Suzyn Barron, president of the Warwick Valley Humane Society. “We are so grateful for the support of our local business and individual sponsors during this dedicated weekend. With sponsor support, this yearly event is always a true success for one or more of our shelter residents,” stated corresponding secretary Lee Peterson.
