A community remembers

Like communities everywhere, Warwick marked Memorial Day this past weekend with parades and solemn speeches remembering members of the U.S. armed forces who gave their lives protecting of this nation. On the lawn of Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, for instance, 1,435 American flags provided by the Town of Warwick were placed in memory of each of Warwick’s veterans. During services at Veterans Memorial Park, both young and old saluted Old Glory and remembered the sacrifices of so many.
