The Greenwood Lake summer concert series will hold a wide range of music against the backdrop of Greenwood Lake. Monroe July 1-2, Saturday-Sunday. Celebrate America at Museum Village from 12-4 p.m. Costumed interpreters demonstrate and talk about life in 19th-century rural American. A day of traditional games, such as pie-eating contests and sack races with prizes for both children and adults along with music and crafts. From 6 p.m. until dusk there will be food and music on Lake Street between the Monroe Ponds. At dusk there will be fireworks. Warwick July 1, Saturday. The Warwick Fire Department will sponsor a parade in the Village of Warwick at 4 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park. West Point July 2, Sunday. Music Under the Stars Series, Independence Day Concert featuring the United States Military Academy Band. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held in the Trophy Point Amphitheater at 8 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will be held on Monday, July 3. Thunder in the Highlands at the old Jungle Habitat property on Airport Road will start at 4 p.m. There will be fireworks at dark. Woodbury July 1, Saturday. The Highland Mills Fire Company will be holding Independence Day Fireworks at dusk at the Monroe-Woodbury School District’s athletic fields complex. Parking will be available on all school lots except for the lot next to the tennis courts at the Central Valley Elementary School. The fireworks will be launched from the northern end of the fields.
