Warwick - More than 100 members of the Historical Society of the Town of Warwick gathered for its 101st annual meeting and dinner on April 21 at the Warwick Country Club. The society honored Anna and Harold Wilson and Nell Rothschild (who was not present) for their long service. Mary Bradner made a donation toward the honorees’ choice of needs within the society. At the annual meeting, Society President Sheila Warner gave a state of the society address. A draft of a new constitution was presented by Mary Neal McFarland for approval. Doug Stage and Debbie Kennedy were voted in as the society’s new trustees, and Jeff Alario presented the budget for the fiscal year. The constitution can be viewed at www.warickhistoricalsociety.org. Hors d’oeuvres and dinner were served by the Warwick Valley High School History Club, catered by Country Courtesy Caterers. A highlight of the evening was when Anna Wilson recalled her father telling her as a young woman not to get her feet wet in the Warwick Creek or she would never leave Warwick. She said that she got them wet all the way to her knees and will not be leaving. Information for this article was provided by Sybil Skinner.
