United Church of Christ celebrates ordination of Dr. Worthington

Blooming Grove — A Service of Ordination and Installation was held for The Rev. Dr. Lise Karin Worthington as Minister of Word and Sacrament on Oct. 2 at Blooming Grove United Church of Christ. This service included representatives from the of the Hudson-Mohawk Association of The United Church of Christ and conference ministers. Local clergy also participated, including Fr. Jeffrey J. Maurer, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church; Malik Nadeem Abid, president, American Muslim Voice (New York Chapter); Edward Pierce, ordained member of Buddhist Order of Interbeing, Budding Flower Sangha; and Ed Mann, elder, Bethany Presbyterian Church. Inspirational music was at the heart of the ceremony. Eric Johnson set the tone with his trumpet prelude. Donna Kushner and Ron DeFesi blessed the congregation with their mastery of violin and piano. The Rev. Pamela Lupfer and Jim Cagle sang “All Is Well With My Soul," and the Classic Choral Society of Orange County, led by its artistic director, Janiece Kohler, sang the celebratory ordination and installation service.
