Monroe — The Community Foundation of Orange County, Inc., has named Tom Sullivan as the newest appointee to the organization’s board of directors. Sullivan is the owner and president of Smith, Seaman and Quakenbush, Inc., of Monroe, and he is an active community volunteer for Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Sacred Heart Parish in Monroe, Mombasha Fire Company, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Orange County Firefighters Museum, various Orange County and New York State Firemens’ and Fire Chiefs’ Associations, and the Orange, Rockland and Sullivan Counties Funeral Directors Association. Sullivan has received numerous recognitions for his community service, including the United Way’s Marian S. Murphy “Neighbors helping Neighbors” Award and the Hudson Valley Council Boys Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Award. Sullivan and his wife, Janet, live in Monroe and have two grown children, Daniel and Jill. The primary goal of the foundation is to connect people who care with causes that matter. “We achieve this goal with the help of a large volunteer support system of Board members and working committees,” said board president RJ Smith. “Board members are selected because their professional spheres of influence are compatible with the needs of the Foundation.” To learn more about the Community Foundation of Orange County, call 469-4469 or log on to www.cfoc-ny.org.
