Succeeding in college

    The following Warwick residents have achieved recognition for their academic successes from their colleges and universities: • Brianna Horton, a 2005 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, was named to the fall 2005 semester dean’s list at Hofstra University of Long Island. The daughter of Robin and John Schamarek of Pine Island and Robert Horton of Warwick, she finished the semester with a GPA of 3.7. • Jason Mazzella, a 2004 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, was named to the fall 2005 semester dean’s list at Hofstra University of Long Island. He is the son of Clara and Mark Mazzella of Warwick. • Victoria Barone of Warwick, a senior studying childhood and special education at SUNY Genesco, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2005 fall semester. To qualify, a student had to carry at least 12 hours, maintain a 3.4 GPA and have no “D,” “E” or incomplete grades. • Luke Sattler, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School and the son of Deborah and Edward Sattler of Warwick, has been named to the fall dean’s list at Hartwick College in Oneonta. Sattler, a sophomore, is majoring in geology. At Hartwick, he has participated in men’s varsity cross country, men’s varsity indoor and outdoor track and field and Delta Delta G. • Jennifer T. Carrion, a graduate of S S Seward Institute in Florida and a senior working toward a bachelor of fine arts degree in the Studio Arts program specializing in Fashion Design, was named to the fall 2005 semester dean’s list at Cazenovia College. • Miranda Whitney of Warwick has been named to the 2005 fall semester dean’s list at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H. She is majoring in psychology. • Nicholas J. Connolly of Warwick has been named to the fall 2005 semester dean’s list at the University of Scranton. He is majoring in finance with minors in political science and business. • Elizabeth M. Connolly of Warwick graduated with honors from the University of Scranton in May 2005 with dual majors in finance and foreign languages. She is currently attending Albany Law School. • William J. Connolly of Warwick graduated from Seton Hall University in May 2005 with an MBA with a concentration in sports management. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Scranton. He is a senior financial analyst for Pfizer.
