On Thursday evening, May 12, more than 30 members of the parish of the RC Church of St. Stephen, the First Martyr held a May Crowning, a traditional Marian devotion that takes place in May, and a Living Rosary. The ceremony was conducted by the St. Stephen’s Sodality, an organization of women that honors the Blessed Virgin Mary. Emily Romig, who received her first communion this year, crowned the statue of the Blessed Mother. Her uncle is Ian Laroe, the Warwick Valley High School Senior, now undergoing treatment for Desmoplastic small-round-cell tumor, an aggressive and rare cancer.
