Sr. Luciana Capretti soon to be a centenarian

Monroe — Although she won’t celebrate her 100th birthday until Oct. 25, Sister Luciana Capretti already has received greetings from President Barack Obama for this special occasion. Sr. Luciana has been a member of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines) for 80 years. Sister received the habit in Italy. She arrived in the United States on Sept. 26, 1932, and has spent her life as a Pallottine Sister in the United States since then. She now lives at the Queen of Apostles Center in Monroe. Alert and interested in current events, Sr. Luciana is attentive to the news, watches CNN daily and includes these events and needs in her prayers.
