Schools and corporations honor outstanding students
Central Valley On May 23, the education and business communities joined together to honor the top two graduating seniors from each of the school districts in the Orange-Ulster Supervisory District. The twelfth annual reception and dinner was held at the Inn at Central Valley. T.D. Bank North, Time Warner Cable, Bank of America, Hudson Valley Data Net, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Crystal Run Health Care and Annese & Associates, Inc. sponsored this event to recognize the accomplishments of these outstanding seniors. This is the twelfth Outstanding Student Recognition Dinner held in Orange County. The Education Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, Inc., established the dinner in 1996. Orange-Ulster BOCES coordinates the event which would not be possible without the support of the above-mentioned corporate sponsors. The guests include the students’ parents as well as the board president, superintendent and high school principal from each school district. The schools participating in this year’s dinner included: John S. Burke Catholic, Chapel Field, Chester, Cornwall, Florida, Goshen, Harmony Christian, Middletown, Minisink Valley, Monroe-Woodbury Newburgh, Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center, Pine Bush, Port Jervis, Tuxedo, Valley Central, Warwick Valley and Washingtonville. Students honored included: John S. Burke Catholic: Grace Burke and Ana Avila Chester: Aruba Iqbal and Beth Pinsker Florida: Brian Goodrich and Amanda Gallagher Harmony Christian: Jasmin Bragg and Andrew Fang Orange-Ulster BOCES: David Barry and Vanessa Foerster Tuxedo: Anna Steen and Daisy Dinh Warwick Valley: Clare Herceg and Elizabeth Stephan.
