Dr. Laura Elizabeth Baecher, M.D., has completed the four-year residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Baecher received the Dr. Susan B. Perlman Award in recognition of “academic excellence, special leadership and compassion.” She also received top honors for her scientific research on the treatment of Group B Streptococcal-positive women prior to labor. Baecher has accepted a fellowship in public health and clinical research, sponsored by Triangle Research: Family Health International, University of North Carolina, and Duke Clinical Research Institute, at Chapel Hill, N.C. Baecher graduated from New York University’s School of Medicine in 2003. She also is a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. She is the daughter of Joe and Terry Baecher of Monroe. (Provided photo)
