Orthopedic surgeon joins St. Anthony's

Warwick — Dr. John Akio Mitamura, an orthopedic surgeon with a practice in Dobbs Ferry, recently joined the medical staff of St. Anthony Community Hospital. Mitamura received his bachelor of arts degree in zoology from the University of California at Los Angeles. He also earned a doctorate in experimental pathology at New York University and then graduated from New York Medical College in Valhalla. From July 1987 to June 1988, Mitamura served as chief resident in Orthopedic Surgery at Metropolitan and Lincoln Hospitals in New York City. He then received a New York University School of Medicine Fellowship in spine with an emphasis on degenerative back disease, spine trauma and Scoliosis.
