Victor M. Rivas of Warwick passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2025. He was 50 years old.

Born in Queens on Aug. 17, 1974, he was the son of Victor and Sandra (Pineda) Rivas.

Victor was a retired NYPD Officer; most recently working at the Warwick Valley High School as a security officer.

His family statement reads: “Victor was a loving and devoted husband, father and son. He was a determined person; when he put his mind to completing a task, no matter how difficult, he would stay with it until its completion. He played football in high school and college. He was an avid Jets fan and a fan of Army football. He loved the game and watching without him will be a sad experience. He made them fun for all of us.”

Victor is survived by his wife Diane; daughters Cristina and Victoria, all of Warwick; father Victor and mother Sandra.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 5, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery, 50 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
