Thomas J. Delahanty
Thomas J. Delahanty of Greenwood Lake, a union painter and a life long resident of the area, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence. He was 87 years of age.
Thomas was born in New York. He was proud to be an American and served his country with honor during the World War II, serving in the Army and earning the Bronze Star, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He loved his family, loved to drive and loved to take you out to lunch. He gave and never asked for anything. He always asked how you were and would do anything you asked.
Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Smith Delahanty.
Thomas sisters Joan and Teresa and his brother Joe survive him.
His children Douglas, Scott and his wife, Victoria and Deirdre and her husband Scott also survive him as well as his grandchildren Mere, Thomas, William, Jack and Molly.
Visitation will be private. Burial with military honor guard will be held Saturday, June 23, at 1 p.m. in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
