Thomas A. Brownsey

Thomas A. Brownsey of Greenwood Lake passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at home. He was 56 and a lifelong resident of the area.
Son of Jane L. Sarine Brownsey and Arthur N. Brownsey, he was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Goshen.
Tom was a truck driver for Gateway Freight Forwarding in Newburgh.
He was the former manager of Lake Region Sports Center in Monroe, former member and former assistant chief of the Mombasha Fire Company in Monroe, former member of Woodbury Field and Stream Club and former member of Monroe Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Brown Brownsey of Greenwood Lake; his mother, Jane L. Brownsey of Venice, Fla., his brother, Douglas Brownsey of Mount Hope, his sister Laura Duggan and her husband Christopher of Monroe; and nieces and nephews.
His family's statement reads: “We will miss our Gentle Giant. Tom was known for his size, his gentleness, his kindness, his love for life, his love for his wife, family and friends. He will always be in our hearts.”
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
