Theodore Lewis Fredricks

    Theodore Lewis Fredricks, formerly of Cochecton and Greenwood Lake, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012.

    Known ad Ted or Lew, he was born March 18, 1924, to Theodore and Mabel Shellworth Fredricks in Greenwood Lake.

    He spent most of his life in Greenwood Lake before moving to Sullivan County in the 1990s.

    He served briefly in the Navy in 1946, and later worked on the Lehigh and Hudson River Railway, and then with the Town of Warwick Highway Department.

    He was married to the former Muriel Just Fisher Fulton.

    He is survived by his wife; stepchildren Alice Kelly of Hilton, Irene and Norman Wright of Old Fort, N.C., Fredrick and Barbara Fisher of Kendall and Arthur and Beth Fisher of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews, including Karen VanStrander of Warwick and Carol Long of Goshen.

    He is predeceased by his parents, his half-brothers Kenneth, Lester and William; his half-sisters Alberta Coddington and Ida Mae Fredricks; and several nieces and nephews.

    There will be no visitation. Grave side services will be held at the family’s convenience at the East Cochecton Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Audubon Society (he loved birds), or to the charity of one’s choice.
