Sophie Kopacska of Warwick entered into rest on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Schervier Pavilion in Warwick. She was 96.

The daughter of Alexander and Katarzyna Niedzwiecka Falicki, she was born May 3, 1917, in the Village of Florida.

A graduate of St. Joseph School in Florida, she spent most of her life residing in Staten Island with her husband Ernest who died in 1964.

She was a cashier for Bohack Supermarket in West Brighton for 13 years. She was a sales person for the Meyers Bakery on Forest Avenue.

She was a retired member of Local 342-50 U.F.C.W. Union and a member of St. Anne’s Church in Dongan Hills.

She is survived by nephews, Charles Faliski Jr. of Florida, NY; Robert Faliski of Port St. Joe, FL; niece, Pattilynn Conard of West Hartford, CT and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Harry, Teddy, Frank and sisters, Helen, Anne (St. Mary Noel C.S.S.F.).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 2-4 PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

A funeral Mass was celebrated May 9 at St. Joseph Church in Florida. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
