Roy Falkena, of Warwick, New York, passed away in Middletown, NY, on December 23, 2021. He was 66 years old.

Born in Warwick, New York, on September 1, 1955, he was the son of the late Ralph and Florence (Riemersma) Falkena.

Roy worked in telecommunications as an inside switchman for Warwick Valley Telephone for most of his career. After retirement, he worked part time for his son, Eric, who owns Apple Valley Construction. He was a youth group counselor, taught Sunday School, loved bowling, golf and hunting. His favorite pastime was constructing for, entertaining, and playing with his grandchildren at his lakeside home in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. Roy will be fondly remembered as the “slipper man,” as on many evenings you could find him knitting slippers for family and friends.

Roy, is survived by his beloved wife Elsje ( Euser), son Eric M. Falkena, and his wife Debra, and their children Aaron, Luke, Jonah and Grant; his son Michael J. Falkena and his fiancée Alison Blount, his children Dean, Dylan and Axel; brothers and sisters Ralph, Robin, Russell, Ronda Liotta, Reed and Rolland. He was predeceased by his brother Ryan.

A celebration of life will be held on December 27th at the Goshen Christian Reformed Church, 2440 State Route 17A Goshen, NY. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., and the service will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a reception next door at the Goshen Christian Pre-K Bldg.
