Rosa M. Sariego
Rosa M. Sariego of Warwick, died at home on June 29, 2012, with her beloved daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was 94.
Daughter of the late Francisco and Margarita (Torres) and Francisco Ruiz, she was born on Aug. 30, 1917, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. She was the last surviving child of 12 siblings.
She was married to the late Pedro B. Peter Sariego, who died in 1988.
Survivors include her daughter, Idalia Tisdall, and her husband, Don, of Warwick; son, Luis Sariego of West Hempstead, Long Island; eight grandchildren, Angela, Luis Jr., Jeremy, Kristy, Peter, Ellen, Anthony and Steven; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Myiah, Lindsay, and Gina; and two step-grandchildren, Brian and Christopher.
She was predeceased by a son, Peter Sariego in 1989.
Visitation was held June 30 and July 1 at Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Warwick. The Funeral Mass was held July 2 at St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment in St. Michaels Cemetery, East Elmhurst, NY.
