Roger Don Ketterer

    Roger Ketterer, age 72, of Accord died on Friday, June 15, 2018 in Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 72.
    Born and raised in Florida, N.Y., he graduated from Goshen High School and Clarkson University.
    Roger served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, including a tour in Vietnam with the 16th Artillery Division.
    He was a former resident of Santa Monica, California, and was a civil engineer with the City of Los Angeles for 30 years, most recently with the Department of Power and Water.
    He has been a resident of Accord, N.Y., since 2002.
    Roger is survived by his sister Elena Kunert (Bonnie) and husband Barney of Warwick; sister-in law Mary Ann Ketterer of Woburn, Mass.; brother Jeff Ketterer and wife Patricia of Somers; nieces Nancy Ketterer, Betsy Kunert, Pam Kunert, Janice Dobbert, Sue Kunert and Carolyn Ketterer, and nephews Paul Ketterer Jr., Greg Bennet and Daniel Ketterer; and several great- nieces and nephews.
    He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Elena Villamil Ketterer of Florida, N.Y., his sister Jane Bennet of Sarasota, Fla., and his brothers Frank Ketterer Jr. of Florida, N.Y., and Paul Ketterer of Woburn, Mass.
    Roger enjoyed travel, fishing, competing in enduro motor cycle racing, shooting competitive pool, time at the beach and most of all spending time and sharing laughs with his extended family – preferably with a large crowd and a Margarita in hand.
    Roger was never lacking for an opinion. He had an inquisitive, analytical mind and a unique outlook on life.
    Services were private. Local arrangements were handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie.
