Robert 'Zovie' Zovistoski

Robert "Zovie" Zovistoski of Florida, N.Y., entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at the age of 73.
Zovie, the son of Jeannette Wood and Anthony Zovistoski, was born Jan. 29, 1944, in the Town of Warwick.
He was a lifetime resident of Florida, N.Y., graduating S.S. Seward Institute in 1962.
In 1965, Zovie was drafted into the United States Army and served in the 2nd and 94th Artillery as a Service Battery Ammunition sergeant during the Vietnam War. He received the Bronze Star for valor.
Following his service, Zovie was an active member within his community. In 2015, he received the lifetime achievement award for his continuous commitment to various community organizations, including the American Legion, Polish Legion of American Veterans and Florida Fire Department, just to name a few.
Zovie is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children, Charles Zovistoski; Allyson Frank and her husband Michael; Michael Dolan and his wife Shana; Christine Dolan Flowers and her husband Dave; Robert Zovistoski-Rake and his wife Josephine and Kimberly A. Zovistoski; grandchildren: Jade Giza, Jacob and Kelci Flowers, Madison Frank, Nicholas Carminati and Morgan Zovistoski-Rake; sister Rosemary Cole and her husband Richard; brother Anthony Zovistoski and his wife Christine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters Ruth DeMouth and Joanne Farnsworth Jackson.
Visitation was held Sept. 10 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home. Legion services and firematic services followed at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass was held Sept. 11 at St. Joseph Church..
As per his wishes, cremation will be held privately after the funeral services.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
