Robert M. Sauschuck
Robert M. Sauschuck of Matamoras, Pa., passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, N.Y. He was 83.
He was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Port Jervis, N.Y., and was raised by Harry and Ann Sauschuck.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Virginia Joy Sauschuck, for 43 years until her passing on July 11, 2010.
He worked as a car inspector on the railroad for Erie and Conrail, starting in the Port Jervis yard and moving to Hoboken, N.J.
A family statement read: “Robert will always be remembered for his appreciation of the tri-state area that he grew up in. He loved spending time in Millrift with his friends listening to the train roaring over the bridge. He also enjoyed taking drives around Cummins Hill. More than anything, he loved his wife, Ginny. The family takes comfort that Bob and Ginny are together again. We know that he loved us kids and grandkids as much as we all loved him.

Surviving are his four loving children, Robert J. Sauschuck and his wife, Agnieszka, of Warwick, N.Y.; Robin Joy Sauschuck of Matamoras, Brenda A. Butler and her husband, Mark, of Annandale, N.J., and Thomas Michael Sauschuck of Matamoras; grandchildren, Kaila Sloane Sauschuck, Jack and Brooke Butler, Alexandra, Brian and Damien Walec; and sister, Barbara Ann Lang.
He was predeceased by his brother Richard Sauschuck.
To honor Robert’s wishes, there was no visitation.
Funeral services were private at the convenience of the family. The burial of Robert and Virginia Joy’s ashes was in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras.
