Robert Faliski

Robert James Faliski Sr. of Port Saint Joe, Fla., passed away Friday, April 11, 2014. He was 83.

He was born April 15, 1930, in Brooklyn.

Robert, also known as Bob or Coach, has been a resident of Port Saint Joe for more than 58 years. Bob was in the Air Force when he fell in love with Jean and the area.

In 1948, he graduated from S.S. Seward Institute in the Village of Florida.

Bob served four years in the United State Air Force and three years United Air Force Reserves.

He worked for St. Joe Paper Company for over 42 years.

Bob has been active in the community, supporting and coaching young men in Little League baseball, friends of the library where Jean worked for more than 35 years and starting an old car club.

Bob was a member of the Lion’s Club of Port St. Joe, charter member of the Gulf Rifle Club, lifetime member of Gulf County Public Library, past member of the Port St. Joe Parents Band and coach to the Dixie Baseball team, Tappers’ Dozier’s. He worked with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. He is a member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Port St. Joe for more than 58 years, serving as past Senior and Junior Wardens, Lay Reader, member of the Vestry, Acolyte Director and choir member.

Bob's love for animals has been ongoing throughout his life. He was active in churches, clubs, organizations, volunteer groups, hobbies and other things that were important to his loved one.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Elizabeth Faliski; two children: Robert Faliski Jr. and his wife Judy of Washington and Rosemary Lhotan and husband Richard of California; four grandchildren: Joy Faliski of Washington, Richard Lhotan Jr. of Texas, MaryJean Lhotan of Missouri and Hunter Lhotan of California; older brother Charles Faliski and his wife Eleanor; and nieces and nephews in Florida, New York California, and Utah.

Funeral services were held at Saint James Episcopal Church, officiated by the Rev. Tommy Dwyer. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola, Fla.
