Rita F. Kenny of Warwick, and formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on May 24, 2013, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. She was 90 years old and had been a resident of Warwick for 17 years.

Born March 3, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of Christian and Catherine (nee Kelly) Faugl.

She was married to John P. Kenny Sr. (1996).

Rita was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s R.C. Church and a member of the Warwick Seniors.

She is survived by her daughter Rita Hand and her husband John of Stony Point; her son Jack Kenny and his wife Cindy of Florida, N.Y.; her daughter Christine Mullarkey and her husband Jerry of Warwick; her son Michael Kenny and his wife Liz of Walden.

Also surviving are her seven grandchildren: Susannah Hand and her husband Matthias Gislason, Danny Hand and his wife Cyndy, and Tim Hand; Samantha, Jacqueline and Colin Kenny; and Christian Mullarkey; and one great-grandchild, Luke Patrick Hand.

She was predeceased by a brother, George Faugl, and a sister, Franny Baird.

Rita was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She cherished life and had the capacity to find the best in everyone and everything.

A funeral Mass was celebrated May 30 at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
