Richard J. Collins of Warwick, and formerly of Brooklyn, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 68.

Richard was born May 12, 1946, in Brooklyn, the son of John and Margaret (nee Carney) Collins.

Mr. Collins was an Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He was driver for American Ambulette in Brooklyn.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Church in Warwick and a former member to Our Lady of Angels R.C. Church in Brooklyn.

His family's statement reads: “He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.”

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Collins of Warwick, his sister Loretta Schettino of Staten Island; two brothers Edward Collins and Thomas Collins, both of Brooklyn, and stepson John Odland of Westtown and stepdaughter Virginia Odland of Plymouth, Pa.

Also surviving are his seven grandchildren: Terrence John, Brandon, Anthony, Megan, Luke, Isabella and Edward.

He was predeceased by his sister Bonnie and brother George Collins.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 23, at on 10 a.m. at the St. Stephen's Church, 74 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.

Interment at the Orange County Veteran Cemetery in Goshen with military honors will follow.
