Rene Muniz

Rene Muniz. a longtime resident of Chester, died peacefully as his residence on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. He was 73 years of age.

He was predeceased by his parents of Puerto Rico and his one sister, Paulie.

He was the widower of Frances Doremus.

Rene worked first for produce farmers, then he worked for many years at Chester Cable Company. He he retired after working at Remey's in the Village of Florida.

Rene was a kind person with many friends and a likable personality, always willing to lend a hand.

Survivors include his stepdaughter Carol Jones and her husband Skip; and step grandchildren Darren, Susan, Maggie Phillips and Jordan. He is also survived by Carol and Mark Sutherland and their family, Tina and Steve Schueler and their family along with his sisters Carmita and her husband and family in Florida, sisters Tita, Lucy, Julia, Elba, their husbands and families in Puerto Rico and brothers Alfonso and Angel and their wives and families in Puerto Rico.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F. Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. in Chester.
