Raymond W. Richner Sr.
Raymond W. Richner Sr. of Florida, N.Y., entered into rest on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the Valley View Center in Goshen. He was 73.
The son of Raymond Richner and Lydia VanAmburgh Richner, he was born March 10, 1941, in Warwick.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Yorktown. He was also a coach for the Florida Little League and a Boy Scout leader for Troop 44 in Florida.
He also worked for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, N.J., Sterling Forest LLC and Werner’s True Value in the Village of Florida.
Survivors include his wife Elsie Ferebee Richner at home in Florida; two sons Raymond Richner Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Florida and Robert Richner and wife Amy of Montgomery; daughter Sandra O’Dell and her husband Norman of Florida; five grandchildren: Robert Richner, Kelsey O’Dell, Kristopher Richner, Norman O’Dell Jr. and McKenzie Richner; Goddaughter Jodee O’Dell; four brothers: Robert Richner and his wife Betty of Sun City, Fla., Bruce Richner and his wife Mary of Walden, Fred Richner and his wife Kathy of Walden and Thomas Richner and his wife Alice of Wallkill; two sisters: Edna VanDyke and her husband Carl of Montgomery and Louisa Kubrak and husband Tony of Lake Ariel, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by sisters Dorothy Ebey and Janet Schmick.
Funeral services were held Sunday evening, March 23, at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home on Glenmere Avenue in Florida, with the Rev. M. Carl Lunden officiating.
Cremation was held privately.
