Raymond D. Schneider Sr.

Raymond D. Schneider Sr. of Warwick (and formerly of Rivervale, N.J., and Peoria, Ill.), passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 83 years old.

Born Jan. 20, 1931, in Peoria, Ill., he was the son of Raymond D. and Clementine Schneider.

He was married to Harriet G. (Seei) Schneider.

Raymond served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received an electrical engineering degree from Bradley College in Illinois and retired in 1988 as an engineer with CBS Network in New York City, where he worked for 28 years.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet G. Schneider, of Warwick; his seven children: Raymond D. Schneider Jr. and his wife Geraldine of Warwick, Janice Belbey and her husband Mark of Warwick, R.I., Stephen Schneider and his wife Jennifer of Warwick, Michael Schneider and his wife Ingrid of Cumming, Ga., Susan Schneider of Warwick, Timothy Schneider and his wife Marilyn of Hillsdale, N.J., and Daniel Schneider and his wife Elise of Harrington Park, N.J.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren: Christine Schneider, Raymond Schneider III, Kelsey Schneider, Meghan Muller, Timothy Belbey, Daniel Belbey, Colleen Belbey, Patrick Belbey, Tara Byrne, Emily Byrne, Stephen Schneider Jr., Andrew Byrne, Steffi Schneider, Alyssa Schneider, T. J. Schneider, Stephanie Schneider, Shannon Cooke, James Cooke, Daniel Schneider Jr. and Christian Schneider.

A funeral Mass was celebrated April 5 at St. Stephen's R.C. Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
