    Pearl M. Wood of Warwick passed peacefully on the evening of Jan. 24, 2019, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick.
    Pearl Madeline Carr was born in McAfee, N.J., to Frank and Stella Carr, the third of four girls. After the passing of her mother, Pearl was adopted by her Aunt Helen and Uncle Harvey Mabee, where she was raised in Warwick on their farm on Wisner Road.
    Pearl married Herb Wood Sr. in 1955 in Warwick. She worked for 37.5 years for Stage & Stage, which later became Stage & Nathans.
    Pearl was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Post #214, the Florida Seniors Group and the Warwick Valley Church of the Nazarene.
    She is survived by her sister Alice Van Gorder of Franklin, N.J.; her daughter Luanne (Philip) of Argyle; son Herb Jr. (Elisa) of Warwick; 3 grandchildren: John, Anna

    Allison and Justin; and many nieces and nephews who thought the world of “Aunt Pearl.”
    Pearl was predeceased by her husband Herb in 2012. She also joins her sisters Mary Moyse and Ann Premock.
    Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
    Interment followed the service in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
