Patrick Joseph King

Patrick Joseph King of Vernon, N.J. (formerly of Hillsdale, N.J.) passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was 82 years old.
Born in New York City on March 8, 1936, he was the youngest of seven children born to Michael and Nina (Burke) King.
He attended Tampa University. He served in the U.S. Army 1954-1956 and became disabled during the Korean Conflict.
Patrick worked as an Iron Workers with Iron Workers Local 46 in New York City. He loved that he was an Iron Worker and was very proud to have worked on the Twin Towers.
Patrick enjoyed helping animals and as such, was a vegetarian. He loved to read.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (nee O’Neill) at home; daughter Donna King of Warwick; son John King of Red Bank, N.J.; and daughter Patricia Helfenbein and her husband and beloved son-in-law Arty of Hillsdale, N.J.; sister-in-law Maria Badias of New York City; four grandchildren: Robert Joseph Edelen III, Katherine Edelen, Kylie Helfenbein and AJ Helfenbein; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be private.
