Michael Sciarretta

Michael Anthony Sciarretta of Warwick entered into rest on Monday, April 1, 2013, at home. He was 64.

The son of Anthony and Olympia Scarmozzino Sciarretta, he was born July 26, 1948.

Survivors include his loving wife Susan Case Sciarretta and daughter Nia Sciarretta; sister Geraldine Varnauskas (Sciarretta); nephews Jimmy and Joseph Varnauskas; nieces Debra LaPlant, Kristi Case, Abby Fitzgerald, Julie Kaplan, Tiffany Rice and Cassie Case; brothers-in-law Theodore and Peter Case.

Michael was retired from a long career as a social worker and psychotherapist. His poetry has appeared in a number of journals and a chapbook of his works entitled “Estuary” published in 2012.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at T. S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island.

After the memorial service, friends, family and co-workers are invited to a repas at the PLAV Hall (Polish Legion) on Legion Road, Pine Island from noon to 2 p.m.
