Michael Kowalczyk

    Michael “Mickey” Kowalczyk of Florida, N.Y., a retired custodian for Warwick Valley School District and a retired onion farmer, entered into rest on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019. He was 80.
    The son of Joseph Kowalczyk and Loretta Kocot Kowalczyk, he was born on Aug. 12, 1938 in Goshen.
    He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marita Spannhake Kowalczyk, at home; sisters-in-law Renate Kuhn of Germany and Corinne Weeden of Florida, N.Y.; nieces Donna Calone and Ina Kuhn; nephews Paul and Frank Kowalczyk; four great nieces: Laura Kuhn, Cara Ann Calone and Amanda and Kaitlyn Kowalczyk; two great nephews: Evan and Alex Kowalczyk; along with numerous other great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
    He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Kowalczyk.
    Visitation was held Feb. 20 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
    A funeral mass followed at St. Joseph Church in Florida.
    Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
