It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Toscano, a devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend who left this world far too soon on April 10, 2025.
Michael passed away just shy of his 59th birthday while doing what he loved most — riding the trails on his dirt bike, with the wind at his back and the open path ahead.
Michael was the beloved husband of Nina Toscano, his soulmate and best friend for 37 years. Married for 29 of those years, their bond was one of deep commitment, endless laughter and shared dreams. From the moment they met in 1988, their love was something rare - unshakable, passionate and full of life’s adventures.
Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two incredible children, Samantha (20) and Nicholas (18), who were the pride and joy of Michael’s world. He was a fiercely proud father who supported every goal and milestone, always cheering from the sidelines or offering a steady hand when it was needed most.
Michael had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, dirt bikes and cars. The trails were his freedom, his therapy and his joy. He rode with unmatched energy, and it brings comfort to know he is now reunited with Buddy — the first dog he and Nina got together — riding once again with him faithfully by his side.
Above all else, Michael was a family man. His door and his heart were always open. Whether you were family by blood or by bond, he welcomed you with warmth, humor and kindness. He made every gathering feel like home and every person feel like they belonged.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Rudolpho. He is survived by his mother Diane, who resides in Florida; sister Donna in New Mexico and sister Debbie in New Jersey and her children Krysta Gonzalez (Geo) and God-son “Mikey” Michael Vesley, his loving wife, Nina; their children, Samantha and Nicholas; bother-in-law to David and wife Wendy and their children Sophia and Emily and a wide circle of family and friends whose lives he touched in countless ways.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Friday, April 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zygmunt-Murtie Funeral Home, 4 Oak St., Greenwood Lake.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Karma Dog Rescue: https://www.goodkarmadogrescue.com/ in his honor.
Ride free, Michael. You will always be loved, always remembered and forever missed.
Funeral arrangements are honorably entrusted to Zygmunt-Murtie Funeral and Cremation Service (845 477-8240 or visit www.zmmemorials.com).
