Maud enjoyed her early years in Greenwood Lake and Warwick. She graduated Warwick High School in 1936 and then went on to become a registered nurse, graduating from Hudson City Hospital School of Nursing in 1939.

Her career started as a staff nurse at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and then in 1942 moved to Tuxedo Memorial Hospital as a night supervisor.

In March 1942, Maud enlisted in the United States Navy as an ensign in the Naval Nurse Corps and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Base in Bethesda, Md. Through the years of World War II she was also stationed at Coco Solo, Canal Zone, Panama, Norfolk, Va., Asbury Park, N.J., and Annapolis, Md.

Upon discharge from the U.S.N. Nurse Corps in February 1947, Maud held the rank of lieutenant commander.

Maud remained active and very astute as she continued to nurture family, friends and relatives until the day she died. Her passing brings the pain of loss but we are all so thankful for the amount of time we had to be with such a great lady.
