Martin M. Gagliardi

    Martin M. Gagliardi, a retired Police Officer with the NYPD, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, after a short illness at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital. He was 91.

    The son of Joseph and Caroline Tammero Gagliardi, he was born on Aug. 24, 1929 in Brooklyn.

    He was the widower of Louise A. Gagliardi.

    Martin was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Past Commander of the American Legion and a member of the Hudson Valley 1013 PBA. He also was CEO of the NY Coliseum Exhibition Corp. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during Korea, stationed on the USS Seawolf submarine.

    Survivors include his son Joseph Gagliardi and his wife Susan of Georgia; daughter-in-law Karen Gagliardi of Monroe; his grandchildren: Maria Badger, Joseph and Christopher Gagliardi; his great-grandchildren: Delaney and Dax; as well as his sister: Marie Rust of Sarasota, Fla.

    He was predeceased by his children Carolyn and Mark Gagliardi.

    A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 11 at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake.

    Entombment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery in Middletown.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
