Marie Jean Mallon

Marie Jean Mallon of Warwick (and formerly of Ocala, Fla.), passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 83.

Born April 17, 1928, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of James and Julia (McDermott) Mallon.

Marie was retired as a Realtor with Century 21 Real Estate in Ocala, Fla. She attended St. Stephen’s R.C. Church and was an avid bingo player.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Schervier Pavilion for their loving care of Marie.

She is survived by her daughters: Joanne Raftery of Ocala, Fla., and Barbara Ruggiero and her husband Augie of Warwick; a sister, Florence Dowell of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
