Margaret 'Peg' Reilly
Margaret “Peg” Reilly of Sugar Loaf (formerly Haverstraw) passed with peace and grace on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, with her family at her side. She was 86.
She was a secretary at St. Stephen’s Church in Warwick and prior at St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack, in 2006, she will be lovingly remembered by son Jay Reilly and wife Susana of Stony Point; four daughters: Maggie Kraft of Nyack, Cathi Bachman and husband,Fred of Southampton, Mary Brightbill of Sugar Loaf and Tricia Reilly-Matthews and husband Jon of Tomkins Cove. She will also be forever remembered by her 11 grandchildren, Tara, Sean, Freddie, Kristin, Leo, Krista, Bridget, Amy, Jimmy, Timothy and Christopher; five great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Bridget.
Peg was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
“Peg was a gentle woman who deeply loved her husband, her family, friends, animals and God above all. She had a passion for decorating, could sew most anything, crocheted beautiful baby blankets and sweaters, baked the best cookies on earth, and loved shopping for bargains. She leaves us rich in memories.”
Visitation was held Dec. 27 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 28 at St. Stephen’s RC Church. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw.
