Louis Torrisi

Louis Torrisi passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at his home in Central Valley. He was 81 years old.

The son of Michael Torrisi and Alta Crowley Torrisi, he was born on June 28, 1940, in Long Island City, New York.

Louis was a retired detective for the NYPD 19th Precinct in Manhattan. He also was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills.

He was the widower of Catherine E. Costello Torrisi.

Survivors include his sons Vincent J. Torrisi and his wife Frances Ventura of Highland Mills, Nicholas M. Torrisi and his wife Bianelli of Goshen, Michael Torrisi and his wife Carolyn of Coral Springs, Florida, and James Torrisi of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; daughter Angela Nadelman and her husband Adam of Naples, Florida; sister Mildred Varvarigos of Astoria; six grandchildren: Matthew, Ashley, Michelle, Yvonne, Lilliana and Austin. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Torrisi.

Visitation was held July 28 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A Funeral Mass was held July 29, at St. Patrick’s Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills.

Interment followed in Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills.
