Loretta E. Lust

    Loretta E. Lust of New Hampton, and formerly of Warwick, entered into rest on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017. She was 86.
    The daughter of Andrew (Gantz) Gancarz and Anelia Serafin Gancarz, she was born on June 26, 1931, in New Hampton.
    She, along with her husband Walter, were co-owners of the Baskin-Robbins stores in the old Orange Plaza and Vails Gate. Prior to that, they operated a small family onion farm. She also was a former clerical worker for Dun & Bradstreet and the Office of the Orange County District Attorney.
    She is survived by her son Gary Lust; daughter Lori DeStefano and her husband Carmen; granddaughter Amy DeStefano; along with several nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her husband Walter “Wally” Lust; brothers Andrew Gancarz and Frank Gantz; and sisters, Genevieve Brozowski and Helen Rutkowski.
    Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 8, from 3 to 8 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1, Pine Island.
    A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island.
    Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
