Letitia Joan Owens

Letitia Joan Owens of Warwick, and formerly of Flushing, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Schervier Pavilion. She was 90 years old.

Born Oct. 23, 1922, in Flushing, she was the daughter of Clarence and Frances (O’Connell) Barry.

She was married to James P. Owens (2010).

Before retiring, Letitia was an elevator operator at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

She is survived by her sisters: Mary Barry Cossu of Warwick, Eileen Barry Schulhoff of Staten Island and Frances Barry Naples and her husband Robert of Saratoga Springs; a sister-in-law, Virginia Barry of Montauk. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Barry and sisters Anita Barry, Grace Barry and Theresa Barry Culley.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Blvd., Long Island City.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:45 a.m. at Queen of Angels R.C. Church in Sunnyside, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.
