Lenore M. Burns

Lenore M. Burns of Greenwood Lake, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, after a long, courageous battle against cancer. She was 79 years old.
Born on Dec. 18, 1937, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Horan) Geil.
She was the widow of Richard J. Burns.
Before retiring, Lenore was employed at Stroock, Stroock & Lavan law firm in Manhattan.
Lenore had a great love for her country and loved her home in Greenwood Lake. She also had a great love for animals.
She is survived by her daughters: Lynn Avenatti and her husband Louis of Vernon, N.J., and Rita Jennings and her husband Thomas of Putnam Valley; her brother, Martin Geil and his wife Sharon; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private funeral services were under the directions of Lazear-Smith & Vander.
