    Larry C. Hastings Sr. of Warwick entered into rest on Monday, March 3, 2014, at home with his family by his side. He was 71.

    The son of Franklin and Alice Horton Hastings, he was born May 30, 1942, in Philipsburg, Pa.

    He was retired from both the Hudson County Carpenters Union Local 6 and Warwick Valley School District.

    Larry always said he was a "Jack of all trades and a master of none.”

    He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served as a combat engineer.

    Survivors include his wife Margaret at home; son Larry C. Hastings Jr. of Warwick; daughter Amy Zegers and her husband Andrew of Warwick; daughter Candy Matuszewski and her husband John of Goshen; five granddaughters: Amber, Kristen, Jaycee, Caitlin and Brianna; and nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.

    Visitation will be held Friday March 7, 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida.

    Burial of his ashes with full military honors will be held March 10, at noon in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
