    Kenneth Kovatch of Warwick returned to the loving arms of our Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 80 years old.
    Born on March 16, 1937, in the Bronx, , he was the son of Andrew and Madeline (Schwab) Kovatch.
    He was married for 54 years to Edith (Niedworok) Kovatch.
    Before retiring, Kenneth was a machine operator with Louis Hornick & Company in Haverstraw.
    He enjoyed boxing, having boxed in his younger years, loved fishing, 50’s music, flea markets and garage sales.
    The family would like to thank the staff of St. Anthony Community Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care for their loved one.
    He is survived by his wife, Edith Kovatch, of Warwick; his daughter, Karen Vermillion and her husband Michael, of Warwick; sons: Kenneth P. Kovatch Jr. of Otisville and Kevin Kovatch of Daytona Beach, Fla.; grandchildren: David Schermerhorn, and Rachel Schermerhorn and partner Eric Williams; great-granddaughter Madison Williams; a sister, Joan Brothers and her husband Raye of North Carolina; a brother, John Kovatch of Florida; a sister-in-law, Janie Dios and husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
