Karen B. Quinn, a resident of Harriman and a lifetime resident of Orange and Rockland counties, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 66 years old.

Daughter of Thomas and Alice Kilpatrick Bogardus, she was born April 29, 1947, in Newburgh.

Karen worked for Konica Minolta in Ramsey, N.J., for 32 years, most recently as commissions manager.

Survivors include her companion Paul F. Michael, at home; her daughters: Heather Birch and her husband Brian of Florida, N.Y., Lisa Moranz and her husband Aaron of Chester and Valerie Trischitta of Brooklyn; her brother Richard Bogardus and his companion Terry Earl of New Windsor; and her grandchildren Julia and Colin Birch.

Besides her family, Karen’s passions included gardening, reading and travelling. Her smile and constant good cheer were well known to her family, friends and co-workers.

Karen’s family would like to extend special thanks to the Oncology department at Crystal Run Healthcare for their considerate and compassionate care over the last two years, as well as the staff at Hospice of Orange and Sullivan for their kindness.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in the funeral home with Rev. Travis Yee officiating. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth’s Chapel Cemetery, Tuxedo Park.

The family asks, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
