Josephine A. Giza

Josephine A. Giza a long-time resident of New Hampton, entered into rest on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, in Loveland, Ohio. She was 85 years old.
The daughter of Frank and Rose Mydosh Shuback, she was born on Feb. 19, 1932, in Pine Island.
She was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown; the Hudson Valley Polonaise Society; and the Mt. Hope Seniors.
Survivors include her two sons: Jeffrey Giza and wife Joanne of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dennis F. Giza of New York City; two grandchildren: Zachary and Abbey Giza of Cincinnati, Ohio; her brother Frank Shuback Jr. of New Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, the Honorable Frank L. Giza; son Gary Giza; and sisters Clara Nowicki, Martha Jarocki and Theresa Pawliczak.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island.
Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pine Island.
