Joseph C. Sicina Jr.

Joseph C. “Bucky” Sicina Jr., a lifelong resident of Florida, N.Y., entered into rest on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Orange Regional Medical Center.

The son of Joseph C. and Mary Wozniak Sicina, he was born Dec. 9, 1920, in the Village of Florida.

He married Beatrice Harter Sicina, who predeceased him in July 1990.

Joseph was a self-employed contractor. He served his country in the U.S. Army, the 94th Infantry Division, in the European Theater during World War II.

He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post 1250, both located in the Village of Florida.

He is survived by his children: Joseph C. Sicina III of Florida; Elizabeth (Robert) Akacki of Florida; and Daniel (Kathleen) Sicina of Bloomingburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Daniel J. Sicina and fiancé Jyoti Negi of Brooklyn and Pamela (Andrew) DiMattina; and his great grandsons: Nicholas and Matthew of Hooksett, N.H.

He is also survived by his sister Dorothy McMullen of Haverstraw; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Edward and Rita Mudrick of Florida; sister-in-law Marcella Bilvin of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 21 at St. Joseph's Church.

Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, also located in the Village of Florida.
