John Eugene Kalyan

John Eugene (Gene) Kalyan (Gene) of Warwick passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, with his beloved wife, Catherine, by his side. He was 87.
The son of John and Anne Kalyan, he was born in Ashley, Pa., on May 6, 1931.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired from U.S. Gypsum and until recently, was employed by DSI.
He was a member of the American Legion 214 and was director and general manager of the Queen Village Queens, Drum & Bugle Corps for 27 years.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Catherine Rodda Kalyan; his five children: David Kalyan, his wife Cindy and their sons, Nick and Sylas; Kris Mangino (Tom) and their sons, Marc (Anna), Stephen and Kristopher; Susan Naples, her husband Dave, and their children, David (Kaley), Megan (Matt) and Christopher; Mark Kalyan, his wife Jeannette, and their children, Kristina and Joseph; and Patricia (Jim) and her children, Taylor and James. He is also survived by two sisters, Anita M. Kalyan and Sr. Jan Marie Kalyan.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Anthony Community Hospital, Schervier Pavilion, Good Samaritan Health Care and Hospice for their kindness and caring.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, followed by burial in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
