    Jeffrey Martin MacDonald of Warwick passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, at his home he shared with his loving wife Maria. Jeffrey was 42 years old.

    Born on May 26, 1971, in Clinton Township, Michigan, he was the son of John and Linda MacDonald.

    Jeffrey spent the early part of his life travelling around the world, eventually settling in Chania, Greece, where he spent six years working for the Department of Defense as a manager/executive chef.

    During this time he dedicated himself to earning a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, Izmir, Turkey.

    Following his return to New York City, he met his wife Maria and they went on to marry in Montauk and a year later in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Maria and Jeffrey had ten happy years of marriage.

    A graduate chef from the French Culinary Institute in New York City, cooking was his passion. He was formerly the owner of Lord of the Isles restaurant and catering hall, Tannersville and owned the Bar Code Store in Bayside, Queens.

    He is survived by his wife, Maria, of Warwick; a son, Kyle Briggs of Beaufort, S.C.; his parents, John and Linda MacDonald of Clinton Township, Michigan; a brother, Steve C. MacDonald of Michigan; two aunts: Kathleen Frank of Michigan and Sharon Norton of Florida. Jeffrey was predeceased by a grandfather,

    John William MacDonald, with whom he was very close. He was proud of his grandfather's accomplishments including those of being awarded the Bronze and Silver Stars for heroic achievement during World War II.

    A funeral service was held March 20 at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick. Burial followed in Warwick Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeffrey’s honor, to his widow, Maria through the Memorial Home.
