Jean Murphy-Andre

    Jean Murphy-Andre of Warwick passed away on Sept. 13, 2011, at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh. She was 55 years old.

    Born March 7, 1956, in Inwood, New York, she was the daughter of Eileen and Timothy Murphy.

    She was married for 24 years to Corneilius Andre.

    Jean’s expertise was in gardening and floral arranging.

    She worked in the Florist Department at A&P in Sussex, N.J., was a lifetime member of American Border Collie Association and was active in the Warwick Valley Varsity Football Club.

    She was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Florida.

    Her family’s statement reads: “Jean will be greatly missed by her family and friends who so enjoyed and appreciated her gifts of vegetable gardening, floral arranging, her Christmas trees and her cooking skills.”

    She is survived by her beloved husband, Corneilius of Warwick; a son, Breandan Andre of Warwick; her mother, Eileen Murphy of New City; a brother, Timothy Murphy and his wife Janine; a sister Alison Olson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

    A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in the Village of Florida.
